Helloooo! Areeeeet?

My site is under reconstruction at the moment, as has been my life, and with it my band.

I can however share the fabulous news that I'm back in the game in a months time as Sister Suzie. I feel a little nervous in a way but very excited too.

The last year was a rollercoaster ride. I'm sure lots of you who are music lovers will see many posts from struggling artists, struggling to make ends meet financially, mentally and physically. I am so proud and in awe of those who have stuck by their guns and survived through it, it really says a lot about your passion, drive and strength. I simply couldn't handle everything. I couldn't manage my band any more on my own so had to make some big changes in order to create a more collaborative team, this was heart breaking, but I am having fun making music again and I've an incredible bunch alongside me who you'll meet very soon.

If some of you have been with me a while you'll know I gained a Social Science degree in 2019, and so, after volunteering in a fantastic wellbeing centre in dear St Leonards for a while, I went and got me a full time job with my local council which I love! I am now a support services officer working within a model called Housing First. We house entrenched rough sleepers with compound health and social care needs giving them a stable home from which to rebuild their lives, which includes having huge amounts of wrap around support. It's quite an amazing initiative and I'm proud to be doing this work, its incredibly rewarding and often emotionally overwhelming. I have been living quite a ‘normal’ life if you'd like to call it that, unable to fit anything else in, trying to adjust to the 9-5, Monday - Friday! Crikey!

I am also studying again too. I did a level two person centered counselling course just because I was interested, then I fell in love with it. Now I'm doing level three but have to find £7000 to do the diploma and become a certified counsellor. I'll have to think about that one but one way or another I'd like to do it because it allows me to feel like music does somehow, it puts to use my ability to connect with people in a really useful way. I don't know if I ever told you this but that's the only reason I do music. Making music is like creating a big magnetic force that pulls people together and lifts us all up; music means absolutely nothing to me on my own.

I've also been doing a bit of art - I may show you later ha because they're only doodles and I only do this to rest my brain.  I would like to do some fund raising too for The incredible Seaview wellbeing Centre I volunteered at for a while, and for the Hastings Foodbank who have lost funding and can no longer give fresh food out to the people who despertely need vital nutrients. I will likely hold a local fundraiser show and from now I'm giving 20% of all merch sales, music and clothing to these causes and there is a donate button below should you feel like helping out.

I just wanted to come and fill you in on whats been happening in my world and to say hi. I can say I am open to taking bookings again too but be warned, I'm keeping my gigging weekends to a minimum, maybe one weekend a month so as to look after myself and give you full pelt Suzie ha ha, so if you see us playing near you make sure you come along!

Man I CAN NOT WAIT.

First two shows are in Hereford and London, details further down the page.

If you got this far cheers for reading and send a message if you want a chin wag.

Big loves,

Suzie xx

"Walking through the woods at Red Rooster Festival to arrive at the main stage I could see a huge crowd all cheering loudly, as I approached the stage I saw Sister Suzie in a sparkly red sequinned jumpsuit jiving away while her amazing band played - the energy that was coming from the stage was infectious... I along with the packed out main stage arena were all instant fans, transfixed to stay for the whole set. I thought right then and there if I'm ever having a party then this is the band Im booking!
